Capt. Alyssa Hurley
Hi, I’m Alyssa – owner and captain of With the Flow Charters. I’m a 6th generation Floridian born and raised in Charlotte County. As I grew up on the water, making memories with my dad, Captain Danny Latham, I grew to love this area and all that the waterways hold.
I played volleyball at Augusta University in Augusta, GA. Although the town lies along the Savannah River, nothing compared to the waters I knew from home. It wasn’t until I was at school that I realized how much of an effect the Harbor and surrounding areas had on me. I couldn’t wait to get back.
Once I returned home, I took a teaching position at my alma mater, Charlotte High School, and taught Physical Education for 7 years. During that time, I created the Beach Volleyball program and was the coach for the past 6 years. In 2023, I’m so proud to say that our team went to states and finished 14th in Florida! And again in 2024 finishing 9th!
Although I loved my job at the high school, I knew it was time to make a change. I left before the 2023-2024 school year and decided to take the leap of opening With the Flow Charters.
The past two years have been beyond any of my expectations. I’m beyond excited every day to have the opportunity to show off the water and nature that has such a grip on my heart. My love for this town is embedded into who I am. Come take an adventure with me & witness all the beauty our town has to offer!
